McCain Whacks Cheney
In a strong pushback against claims made by former Vice President Dick Cheney, Sen. John McCain insisted on Sunday that the use of torture on terrorism suspects violated international law, didn't work, and actually helped al Qaeda recruit additional members..

1. But wasn't McCain against torture before he was against it BEFORE he was for it?

4. he's been all over the board
and even now he is against criminal investigations. but his statements really do kick cheney in the nuts, as his whole argument is "it saved lives, it worked." mccain, in no uncertain terms, called bullshit on that, and he did it right after cheney made his claims again on the sunday liars programs.

2. McCain may have seen the tribute to the legacy of Kennedy and decided he'd like
to be remembered likewise.. perhaps he'll actually do some good trying to one-up the man?

3. McCain may not be our best buddy, but
if he whacks Cheney with such a push back, I will at least be polite enough to agree with him.

5. Interesting thread title
I know I can't be the only one who had a Tony Soprano moment there. :dunce:

I remember after the election, I turned to a friend of mine and said something to the effect of 'Now that the election is over, McCain can get back to being himself. I dont always agree with him, but the McCain from the election and the McCain Im used to seeing were two totally different people'. Now if everyone else on the right who had even the slightest smidgen of decency left would help counter Cheney also, this would get the traction that this vile topic should have always had.
