I am watching a Sci Fi movie on Spike TV and this organization actually had a commercial. Check out the link... http://www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org/#/homeBelieve it or not but these people are serious..

Movie about the end of the world in 2012.
This is a marketing campaign.

1. I believe that's what the kids call viral marketing these days |
|
in that you are sick at both ends.
It's promotion for a movie.

2. My husband brought that site to my attention a few days ago. |
|
He loves the SciFi channel. He was extremely alarmed when he went to the site, and angry at how much an ad like that is going to terrify children.

Irresponsible? They're advertising for a movie.
And this ad campaign has probably been in the works for a year, with millions of dollars behind it. They can't help it that Palin broadcast her idiocy on FB.
I think its pretty brilliant, and is one more step towards the marriage of movies and the internet. But, of course, I'm biased - I work in "the industry."

11. Fantastic marketing. Website looks completely legit. |
|
Yeah, there's a "Sony Pictures" legal disclaimer, but if you get into the spirit of the site, it's really quite slick.

The internet and movies are perfect fits for each other. This just takes it one step closer.
