I have a newfound respect for Elizabeth Hasselbeck (sp?) |
|
I was waiting in the Doctor's office today and picked up a current People magazine. There was an interview with her and they were asking about her relationship with Rosie. She had nothing but good things to say about Rosie, said that they email each other often, and that Rosie made her think and challenged her politically. It was really a great read and I was really kind of surprised to read about the affection she held for Rosie and her children. She even said that she hopes she doesn't leave the show.

1. I read that article too and Elizabeth sounded very sincere. I have |
|
no reason to believe otherwise at this point so I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt on this one.

2. They gave her every opportunity to trash Rosie |
|
and it never happened. I was pleasantly surprised.

6. Don't forget at one point Rosie liked Bush. |
|
So, I have mixed views about Rosie.

4. I have an oldfound respect for her - |

I seriously watched only one Survivor - I think it was Survivor 2, the one Elizabeth was on. I picked the right one to watch. For once, despite all, the mean people DIDN'T win: Tina and Colby led a little revolution, and overthrew Jerri's reign of terror, and then at the merge, it was Tina, Colby and Elizabeth with them (Elizabeth had been a member of the other "tribe") who showed that, at least for once, the Nice Guys can actually win!

5. politics doesn't need to be fractious |

Some of the best, more intellectually challenging political discussions I have had in my lifetime have been with my Republican sister. I think that's where I learned that discussion of politics doesn't need to be personal. The nastiest political discussions? Those left of center and right here at DU; that was quite a revelation and, quite frankly, a disappointment for me.
