Tom Daschle and Escorts and the Need to Reach out to those who differ |
|
It's Been Great Talking to You (From Blog "Tinyrevolution.com) In this interview with the New York Times, Tom Daschle has boiled corporate Democrat scumbaggery down to its essence:
NY TIMES: It has been reported that you’re a paid adviser to the insurance giant UnitedHealth Group, which opposes your belief that health care reform needs to have a public option. Why do you work with them?
DASCHLE: On the left there are those who say that you should never talk to people who differ with you on a high-profile issue. My question to the left would be, whom would they advise these insurance companies talk to? Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin? That’s the alternative. They can talk to Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, or they can talk to me.#### From the "Internet Escort's Handbook":
...become a well-rounded conversationalist. Having an interest in something beyond your immediate concerns always makes you more appealing to be around. Having knowledge on a variety of topics makes you impressive to clients. Be interesting.

4. "There are those who say": Straw man much, Tom? |

The reality is that we on the left have talked with people who differ from us on high-profile issues. We've gotten the back of the hand from the likes of Limbaugh, Palin and Beck. We've gotten called "traitor" by the likes of Bush and Cheney. We've watched our country degenerate into some third world dictatorship that practices torture against its enemies, real and imagined. And now you want to step up and take your turn? Sorry, but we've suffered enough at the hands of our fellow countrymen. We're far less inclined to get another smack from people who'd like to pose as our friends.
You want to talk to somebody? Then you go talk to Mr. Cheney or Mrs. Palin or Mr. Beck. We can tell you how the conversation's going to turn out, but we don't want to spoil your surprise. Then come back, and if you still want to talk, we really don't have to, because we're going to get done what needs to be done without you or your corporate-lackey ilk. But at least you'll be out of our hair for a while.
