Why is no one on M$Greedia asking DUer Kentuck's question |
|
If the torture stopped in 2003, how did the Dick keep people safe for eight years?

3. And in the "face off" that Joe guy kept saying how bush/cheney kept "us" safe |
|
after 9/11. Neither him nor Cofinas mentioned the anthrax attacks that happened just days later nor did Cofinas bring up the fact that 9/11 itself happened on bush/cheney's watch.

It was never eight yeas but Kentuck raised a good point. What kept people safe after Cheney et al stopped torturing people in 2003 as they claim.

8. Because the true purpose of the torture was to provide justification for the Iraq War. |
|
It was strictly a fishing expedition to get 'confessions' that (1) linked Al Qaeda to Saddam/Iraq and (2) prove WMD existed. Fail.
It was never about keeping the American public safe from terrorism, it was about keeping Bush/Cheney safe from the ICC. As bad as the methods were, what I want to see are the questions being asked to these prisoners under torture.

12. And also, what constitutes "safe"? |
|
After all, since September 11, we sustained the anthrax attacks (still unsolved), the DC sniper terror, as well as countless acts great and small both here and overseas that either endangered or outright killed U.S. citizens all over the globe. Is their yardstick simply the horrific attacks on the World Trade Center towers? After you've knocked them down once, it's pretty hard to do that again, so practically anything short of the complete dissolution of the United States as a country is going to fall short of that horror. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the Bush/Cheney counterterrorism program: They toppled the World Trade Center buildings just that one time! We're heroes!
Why are we listening to the post hoc rationalizations of the perpetrators, anyway?
