Here's a big problem - the media shows both sides as if they are both the truth - re health care |
|
debate. This is a problem that has been obvious since Bush stole office...er, took office. The media hides behind this "fair and balanced, we need to show both sides" mantra. Yet in the case of the Health Care debate (well, in the case of most everything the past 8 years), that is a non-starter. One side has been clearly wrong and/or blatantly lying - the right wing noise machine. So the public are not at all being served by having lies elevated to equivalence with the truth.
Which is, of course, just the way the right wing-owned, big business, corporate main stream media wants it.

1. Here's a bigger problem - the media needs to create "sides" on every issue |
|
We're first in the world on spending, but 37th on overall health care.
How is there another "side" to that?

4. The Fascist big media state |
|
The editors maintain the illusion of neutrality while actually supporting the liars.
When they just hire talking heads, and invite think tankers to debate well worn talking points they abdicate an editorial position, and thereby guarantee continued access by their parent media organization to the politicians who lie. The cycle of deceit continues, like a perpetual motion machine.
The fig leaf that the editorial staff hide behind is the cost of actual reporting, because without it they can just hire writers to write the bumpers in between heritage foundation talking points. Throw in a few viewer web polls and you've got a full hour!

6. Another thing I've noticed |
|
is that if a Dem criticizes a right winger it doesn't count. The criticism must come from another puke.
On the other hand the Dems, do it too. Notice that even Gibbs has to bring up McCain in order to legitimize the criticism of torture. They always have to find a righty to throw in there. The pukes never do that.

7. Yup. The people behind the takeover of the truth on the right have no |

respect for the people who are suffering and working their asses off but who still vote for them. They replaced a narrow right wing narrative with lies and people whipped into a frenzy. I cannot wait for all the books to come out ore the years on this topic. Unfortunately they will have to compete with the books on the right. There is no other way to combat such liars but to dig in a last it out. The truth will come out in the end.

8. Even C-Span is guilty.. |
|
Callers complain that the C-Span hosts should point out lies when they have on right wing guests, but they never do.
MSM presents right and left sides as though they were true assessments of a politial view and allow false statements to stand.
Very aggravating.

this is what you get. He said, She said.
Gosh, even the reporters are going to be affected by changes in health care. You would think they gave a damn for their own hides.
