I am so calling Grassley's office again and
telling him that, as a constituent, I expect him to get at that table and to negotiate a healthcare reform bill that benefits us and to do it in good faith. I will also call him on his contributions from the insurance and pharma. I want him to stay right where he is and squirm and squirm and squirm and try to explain to both sides the next time he is up either 1) why he didn't support meaningful reform or 2) why he didn't have the cajones to walk away. I want him to become stuck in the middle while spouting RW talking points all the way.

1. Knock yourself out
Have fun with him. Nothing's going to move him, but if you can make him squirm, go for it!

2. His state has reform.
Didn't read into the details ...

3. Lawnmower man is running scared.
He is talking out both sides of his mouth so fast my head is spinning. He tells 1/2 of the state, he's working on health reform. Then he gets up and tells the other 1/2 that he's trying to stop it.

His problem is that half of us hate him for not working for it and thd other half hates him because he says he is.

4. I sent him an email. I'm beginning to wonder if he is getting dementia.
His statements are so blatant, no one can miss them.

It's screwy.

5. Ask his staff if he's had, with his healthcare, a recent checkup.
And suggest one if he hasn't. Might as well take advantage of the benefits he has and we don't.

7. Listening to audio clips on Iowa Public Radio,
I notice his ability to put sentences together is considerably diminished compared to just a few years ago. He labors mightily to get a thought out in words and there's no subtlety apparent in his mental processes.

Maybe his guilty conscience is attacking his speech center?

6. Perhaps you could ask his staff...
Negotiation is the process of reaching agreement through making demands and offering concessions. Ask Grassley's staff member (in the interest of better understanding the issue, of course), what concessions he and the Republicans have offered to balance the concessions they want from the Democrats?
