Zogby Poll's Numbers Called into Question by Me
Edited on Tue Sep-01-09 05:17 PM by louis c
I follow all the polls. Well, as many as I can.

Zogby contends that Obama's polling numbers are 42% approval and 57% disapproval.

As A scroll down, I notice that the 42% approval is combined Excellent and Good responses and disapprove is a combined fair and poor.

Since when is fair considered "disapprove"? In every conversation I have about our President, if someone tells me, "well, he's doing a fair job" I feel that has to be at least a neutral position. I would estimate that Obama would get a majority of votes from people who answered that he's doing a "fair" job.

Using this criteria, I could just as easily say 58% approve. At the very least, you can split the difference and give Obama a slight lead in job approval. But 16% fair respondents become "unfavorable"? Come on, I don't get it.

5. Well, I'd have to honestly say 'disapprove' if you asked me these days
though I generally like him and would vote for him. If he doesn't shrug off the corporate interests, and SOON, I'm not sure that I'll want to work my butt off to elect him again. Believe me, I wish I didn't feel this way.

8. I've participated in many Zogby internet polls.
The questions are always worded really funky. I think any reporting of poll results should also require reporting of the actual question asked. Then people could make up their own minds about if the questions are misleading, the answers misconstrued, or if the poll is just plain BS.

13. Didn't we deal with this during the election? Zogby polls are the most horrible,
inaccurate piles of garbage. Worse then Rasmussen and that is saying a lot.
