What happened to the CBO scoring of HR 676 ? |
|
There were reports that the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) would score HR 676 (Medicare for ALL) in August. Since then.....silence.
Does anyone KNOW what happened?

1. Turns out it will balance the federal budget in 3 years, so it's off the table. |

4. It's stuck in the queue |

Right behind John Kerry's on-the-ground election protection team in Ohio, and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's promise to investigate the allegations of his own sexual misconduct.
On second thought: it's probably been released with all the fanfare of the newspaper consortium recount of the 2000 election that concluded Al Gore had won Florida.

5. I'm surprised the Kucinich bashing-bots haven't shown up on this thread |
|
They've been here since May, offering up mean spirited ad hominem attacks on Kucinich that stick out like sore thumbs on a Democratic site.
I don't know where they came from, but wherever it is, I bet they have something to do with the bill being scuttled and silenced.

6. I love Kucinich but I know he hasn't a chance in a statewide, much less a national election |
|
That's not a bash, it is an assessment.
I can find no evidence that the scoring has been completed on HR 676 but it could be buried somewhere.

7. Didn't I read somewhere (most likely here on DU) that Conyers had to request scoring |
|
and he hadn't done so? Though I find that hard to believe, so maybe I imagined that ...

8. People need to follow up with Weiner's office, his amendment |
|
was supposedly sent to the CBO for scoring.
I've called the office several times, but I'm not a constituent and they might be tired of hearing from me.
:)
Hopefully someone will call and post what they learned.

9. I think the plan was always to vote first |
|
and score later.
Bringing to mind the quip: "You don't really want to know how sausages or laws are made."
