although it has "moderated", it has a nickname of the Daily Hate, a very very nasty rag once owned by Nazi sympathisers.

Typical rightwing propaganda ploy. Get Malkin, Beck, et al and a couple of rightwing rags to report the 2 million number (don't care if its accurate just that it was reported). That way more 'respectible' rightwingers and new outlet can get away with saying 'it has been reported that over 2 million protesters showed up'. They would not be reporting that any reputable source made the estimate but only that 'it has been reported'.
