1. I dont really care about rec or un-rec either way.
The rec v unrec wars were all lost on me.

14. YES! That is exactly why I thought t woud be a good idea!
I have often wished I could rec and bookmark a post with one click, because I forgot to bookmark some things I intended to go back to

4. If you are considering it, then it is being considered
by somebody. (Here I rely upon the premise that you are somebody.)

6. I've been around here for four years and until a couple of weeks ago
I did not know what "My DU" was for.

I have recommended many threads since I've been here.

I have never unrecommended a thread. I don't intend to.

Reommend/unrecommend is a topic that has been commented on around here far out of all proportion to its actual importance.

One billion Chinese do not give a shit about it.

And neither do I.

7. Other ...

It would consume far too many system resources without an associated benefit.

More personally, I don't *want* to see threads I've unrecommended. "Unrecommend" and "ignore" tend to go hand-in-hand in my universe.

8. If linked to unrec threads, they would mostly be threads about unrec.

9. Other: I have better things to do than see what someone else has rec'ed or
un'rec.

I think only those who promote agendas would be interested in that information.

11. I prefer the "mark-all" function, and I do not "un-rec"
so it would be no biggie to me at all:)

13. I wouldn't care, but what would OTHERS do with that information?
If you don't think some people couldn't resist needling or bullying other posters over threads that they rec'd or unrec'd, turning a thread into a flamewar, think again.

24. Before others do something with that information, wouldn't they need access to your My-DU?

17. It would be a witchhunt, with people perusing the archives in search of dirt to throw
People very supportive and not so supportive of Obama, for example, would remind each other that they suck because they recommended X or Y thread. And chaos would ensue.
