Today we received some terrible news. My Sister-in Law and her Husband are Teabaggers. This is not some rumor I got in a RW chainletter. They sent us photos. They were in Washington DC last weekend and they were wearing yellow shirts and holding up signs. "Stop Spending!"
I know they are conservatives and my Sister-in law told us in 2003 how lucky we were to have President Bush in the Whitehouse (the fact that my Son was in the Marine Corps and could be sent to Iraq to be blown to bits was apparently lost on her).
But now this.
I am thinking of telling them to turn off Fox News for at least 2 weeks to let sanity take control of them.
Please advise me on my next steps.
Signed DUfus.

1. Depends on what kind of relationship you want. If any. |
|
I'm stuck in the right wing family from hell. And they're indoctrinating my nieces and nephews into it as well. Since I want a relationship with them, I had to finally speak up and tell them no more political discussion, no more jokes, no more snide comments.
There was a shocked silence for a while, but it looks like it's working. Don't know about your family, but mine is typical repuke: cowardly bullies. Once you stand up to them, things can change.

2. Stop worrying: this is probably not genetic. |
|
Is your sister-in-law married to your brother, or is she your spouse's sister -- or some other arrangement? Even if one of the first two, you and your spouse are probably safe; although you should perhaps undergo genetic testing just to make sure.

3. She's my Spouse's sister |
|
He introduced me to my Wife.
We are actually good friends. I made a decision years ago that I was not going to allow Bush to break up my family relationships.
The genetic testing may however be a good idea. But I have not yet run through my deductible on my health insurance (which I believe I have).
