If you want to understand Iraq, listen to the Doha Debates
which are posted under political videos. They are long-45 minutes each--but well worth it, because they show the way at least some people in the ME are thinking. The last one I watched was whether or not Iraq needed a new dictator. The most telling part of the discussion was the attitude by all who were there, including an ex-CIA man, that the US needed to get out of Iraq NOW. Iraqis in the audience and some of the panelists said that they felt the sectarian violence was a result of US ineptness in managing things--and the last Iraqi to speak said if there was a new dictator from Iraq, they would be vetted by the CIA.
