Boehner et al missed Nancy Pelosi's point
She never said a word about race. She said the inflammatory rhetoric reminded her of the 70s when Harvey and the mayor were killed. Neither was black.

Maybe that tanning machine has started to damage Boehner's brain cells.

Spin Pat Buchanan, king of Nixon's Southern strategy - spin with Joe Scum.

1. Oh, I don't think he missed it at all. It's working for him, and he defined HIS opinion of what
she meant. Most if not all of the Pubbies will believe him too.

4. No, he didn't. At most, willful ignorance. At best, he deliberately
tries to change the frame. And until he is called on it, he succeeds.

7. Mr. Bottle Tan has to look at today's polls, and shake his head.
No matter how they try, their message gets kicked, while Obama continues to thrive.

would be if he was used as a dart board.

Edit to add: His skin color was never in a Crayola box. I'm not sure it could be recreated even in a lab.

8. Great new colors are possible with nanotubes, which
apparently can be "tuned" to reflect and refract light in the most incredible combinations of visible frequencies. Still experimental, but then again, so is his skin color.

9. And when there's an act of political violence
All the media fomenter's and all the political leaders of all this hate speech are going to say:

Wasn't me. Can't prove anything. I didn't pull the trigger. It was a deranged lone gunman. I'm not responsible for my viewers behavior. I never told anyone to go out and kill people.

Just like they did with the recent abortion Doctor assassination.

14. I agree. Dangerous right wing professional bullying
Edited on Fri Sep-18-09 09:49 AM by Overseas
has been working for the GOP. Corporate donations are way up, I'm sure. That's what matters most to them. And they get mileage from Dems caving in all the time too. They're hoping the subtext of "Dems are wimps" will work to their advantage in 2010. Scared, angry citizens on display in our conservative media may give the GOP operatives the cover they need to flip a few seats in Congressional elections.

In spite of Democrats' foolish decision to take Single Payer, the strongest option, off the table before debates had even begun, right wing donors and corporations went ahead and retained professional PR firms that have stirred up dangerous, broadly anti-government, anti-Obama sentiments in order to protect their private profits. In these times of economic upheaval and suffering for millions, the right wing PR firms and corporations that fund them proceeded to gin up really destructive emotions in vulnerable populations to keep things as close to the cruel status quo as possible.

I had hoped exposing that would give Democrats the courage to say-- "Enough is Enough! We can't reward the professional bullying by excluding an effective public option open to all who choose it or the Right will use the same tactics on the next initiative for change that our country desperately needs. They've already begun to stir up 'Energy Citizens' against carbon cap & trade legislation. Let's send them a strong message that professional bullying won't work."

11. Her point may be more subtle than we know
Milk's assassination came from within the political structure--it didn't come from pundits or the public at large. Perhaps things are nastier behind the scenes than we know, and Pelosi is actually coming to realize how jeopardizing her position is within a polarized Congress. It could easily move from yelling "You lie" to a House member rushing to the floor.

19. Pelosi is right and there has already been
violence. Dr Tiller and the Holocaust Museum shooting were both hate crimes. Violence is festering in this environment created by the rightwingers.

Boehner knows this but chooses to distort her words for his own purposes. A few more dead bodies won't bother him in the least.
