The Republican Party has an obvious and much-discussed demographic problem: The future majorities aren't to be made of older straight white voters alone.
The South Carolina Republican Party -- not typically thought of as the cutting edge of GOP diversity, though come to think of it that's probably a bad assumption -- is trying to change that perception with this video chock full of women and people of color, titled "I'm a Republican too."
And a colleague notices that we're not just talking about race and gender: If you watch closely at the very beginning, they appear to be (if rather hesitantly) signaling their openness to gay Republicans as well. At least, that's how I read the casting of the few moments in the video when two people appear on screen together, which comes in its first few seconds.
