Is Keith Olbermann really living with a 22 year old?

There was a huge thread on this on DU. But, I googled it & put it up on yahoo and could find no sources stating this was true. The only one I found was a right wing crazy site, but even that did not give a general source.

Is it true? And, do you have a source?

It was a really big topic on the board a few days back, but I can not find ANYTHING that substantiates it. The issue is DU talking about a real story, or perpetuating a fallacy - not who Keith is dating!

However, if the story wasn't even true, it is IMPORTANT because it means DU is perpetuating a right wing myth without verifying it. It could be true, or not. I just was wondering, if anyone even bothered to source it, it was quite a big thread!

The point is, whether or not Olbermann is shacking up with a 22-yr old woman is irrelevant. They would both be consenting adults, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time an older gentleman has taken up with a much younger woman.

In every story they tell, the girlfriend becomes younger and younger. They usually describe her as being 22 because she was 22 last year. They completely ignore the fact that she had a birthday. In some versions of their stories, they knock her age down to 21, or even 20. Do I hear 19? 18? I expect that by next year, she will be all of 14, and they will be accusing Keith of pedophilia.

It's really quite absurd. But they have to try to pin something on him, so they do what they can.

What I find interesting is how some DU'ers cheer him on for having this young girlfriend and Dennis Kucinich for having a much younger wife, but they think it's some sort of crime if Fred Thompson has a "trophy wife" who is much younger than he. The double standard lives.

Why do you see time & time & time again, older powerful rich celebrity men going for women half their age of more. Leaving wives of grace & intellect for these really young women. Why do rock stars marry models?

Beauty & sex, my dear. I have always been a smart woman, but man, the difference between my 20s & 30s is like night & day, & I bet the difference between my 30s & 40s will be equally striking. Life experience and maturity do matter.

Just because you are in a age difference relationship doesn't mean the reality of what a lot of these relationships are - changes...

I am sure not all these relationships are founded on this basis, but the trend of rich & powerful men seeking out young beauties or leaving older women almost invariably for much younger women indicates a strong desire for beauty & sex.

Maybe my attitude comes from posting so many articles here. If I looked for perfection from all I posted, I'd post a lot less, and some valuable info would be missed. That said, the Limbaugh lead to the "New York" article was incomprehensible and truly unfortunate.

I must wonder if public figures not only must sacrifice their privacy rights but must cause anyone with whom they have a relationship to sacrifice theirs. It's certainly one thing for a spouse, parent, child, or sibling of a public figure to voluntarily climb on the public stage to involve themselves in the other's career, but I don't believe it's generally within the bounds of ethics (or decency) in a democracy to effectively drag them up upon that stage and expose them.

But maybe that's just me. I regard that as a form of objectification ... exploiting a human being for ends other than their own well-being. I've already said why. YMMV.
