On Meet the Press. He just said he went on Imus as a guest (he is not a listener, however) and received a lot of feedback on his appearance from his Washington and NY press colleagues. He said it like it was a surprise and his body language implied that it shouldn't be that way.

Surprised? Are you surprised that David Brooks' colleagues listen to Imus? Not I!

OK, Brooks, we can call you "elite" but you can't call yourself "elite." Schmuck!

And he's right. Imus doesn't have a huge audience, but it's an audience of politicians, pundits and inside-the-beltway types, as opposed to Stern or Opey and Anthony who appeal to the fart-in-your-face teen boy crowd.
