Has anyone else noticed that right wingers don't get it? They keep repeating the same old tired line |
|
about how hard they work to support the millions of people on welfare. Yet not once do they think about not only are they paying for the top 1% earnings they are also paying to give the top 1% more corporate welfare. Also notice that they really don't believe their lies because if they thought welfare was a way for people to live high off the hog then why are they still working. I've yet to see a puke answer that question, outside of saying pride nonsense.

3. Yesterday, I shouted to a right-winger that he was brainwashed. |

Yesterday, at the local weekly peace rally in a county in the northern part of the Pittsburgh area, a man parked his truck, exited it, and shouted his right-wing diatribe as he approached those of us participating in the rally. He mixed some indecent invectives with his right-wing shouting points. I shouted back that the Iraq invasion was because of oil. In reply, he shouted a few indecent terms to describe us. I shouted that he was brainwashed by Bush. He then grabbed his crotch, and, while making an obscene gesture with it, shouted: "Here's brainwashed." I yelled back a sarcastic remark as he stepped into the street where light traffic had to come to a stop to avoid hitting him. He shouted at us as he made his way back to the truck. He continued to shout at us as he pulled away, and he did so again when he came to stop at the red light at the corner.
It is probably best neither to raise one's voice nor to attempt using reason when responding to people acting like the man I have described. But, at the time, the word "brainwashed" appeared to me to be the best term to describe him, and I decided to let him know it.
