BREAKING! C-Span I just had live Presser with Schumer...Hitting Gonzalez Statements Released Today!

I (4:00 est, Sunday)just watched a live Presser with Schumer that C-Span said was "live or today" where he refutes the Opening Statements that Gonzales released today to the Sunday Shows in ADVANCE of his Tuesday hearing.

Schumer took apart Gonzales statements and said that Judiciary has testimony that refutes Gonzales and that he was having the Press Conference to alert Gonzales that Judiciary has this information and he needs to be prepared to Testify about the questions raised along with the 10 Questions that Judiciary has already given Gonzales last Thursday to prepare to answer on Tuesday. He was going after him and said he should resign because he's not fit to serve..and if he and the DOJ claim that no one knew what was going on as to why the attorneys were fired then it must go "Straight to the top of the White House" and that's what Judiciary needs to know whether Gonzo stays or goes.

Schumer took questions from reporters. I went over to CNN and found NOTHING on their site except comments from Specter on one of the Sunday shows. I checked C-Span's schedule and the Press Conference isn't up listed on their events for today.

Am I losing my mind or did anyone else here this! It was incredible ...our Dems hitting back at Gonzo's lies and doing it in an Emergency Presser on a Sunday afternoon. Yet...I can't find anything about it!

Maybe it will be mentioned on the nightly news shows. :shrug:

He said giving Gonzo the up would mean he needs to be prepared to answer why his former testimony is in dispute. Makes sense to me. Gonzo can't say: "I know nothing" when he's been forewarned of the seriousness that others have testified differently.

3. This is the way they've treated Dems' counters of GOP lies for at least a decade.

If the corpmedia really doesn't want an issue covered they make sure to ignore it or downplay its importance altogether.

How often did you hear the rebuttals to the "Clintons trashed the WH" lie? How many times did you hear Kerry's counters to the Swifts? The counters were always there, but not given anywhere near the airtime or buildup the lies were given.

When I walked passed here earlier I noticed Schumer was on the screen but I couldn't stop to listen. So, I think they did cover it. I just don't know how much.

we don't have time for Attorney General's Firings. It was a good discussion about Imus Firing...but...Russert just couldn't make time to fit in a "teensy" about Gonzo's lies.

Russert really showed what he was all about in the way he treated Eugene Robinson and Gwen Iffill...with David Brooks and the guy from WSJ as he kept defending the guy who sold all his copies of "Big Russ and Me" or whatever his book was about.

Also Sunday, the Justice Department released a copy of remarks Gonzales will make during his Tuesday testimony before the Judiciary Committee. (What Gonzales will say, PDF)

Gonzales is scheduled to tell the committee that he has nothing to hide and that he "never sought to mislead or deceive the Congress or the American people about my role in this matter."

24. I'm just getting back and CNN with "Fred" finally reported on Gonzo's Problems

The report included Cheney apparently throwing Gonzo "under the bus" on Schieffer this morning saying that: "It's all up to him."

And...that Judiciary Committee is going to ask about Gonzo's use of "OTHER Email accounts" like RNC.

CNN only had one pundit on that they asked: "What does this all mean?" to and it was Mark Preston who seemed to be a Democrat (I couldn't catch what his title was) and he DID REALLY GOOD when "Fred" asked him WHY this whole thing is important because "after all President Bush is a Lame Duck."

Mark Preston explained that there's "alot of work a President wants to accomplish in his last two years and this could be a probleme for him." (paraphrase)....Anyway he was GOOD...and I'm trying to cook ...so I couldn't write it all down.
