George W. bUsh; biggest MFing hypocrite ever.
Just to point out one of so very many examples;

“I think it’s also important for the president to lay out a timetable to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn.”

Flip-Flopper In Chief George W. bUsh, 6/5/99.

and if you set a withdrawal date, all your enemy has to do is mark their calendars. These people are worse than hypocrites and more dangerous than criminals; they are totally lacking in humanity. Beam me up, Scotty.

7. maybe another:
paraphrasing: "It'd be easier to be a dictator, as long as I'm the dictator."

If anyone has the verbatim quote it would be a great addition to this thread.

8. You mean this one?
(and to think the site where I found it is called "BrainyQuote! )

http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/g/george_w_bush.html

A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it.

9. I went ahead and sent the withdrawal quote to Keith
With a link to a senate.gov site

Gosh, Mr. Olbermann! Where's the Bush today who was busy winning the hearts
and minds of Americans back then?
Oh, my! My beautiful mind is so confused!

What Bush said then, as opposed to what he keeps repeating ad nauseum today:

http://democrats.senate.gov/newsroom/record.cfm?id=239725&

George Bush Then and Now: For a Timetable Before He Was Against One.

Then George Bush called for an exit strategy: "Victory means exit strategy, and
it's important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is."

Bush called for a timetable. “I think it’s also important for the president to
lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be
withdrawn.”

Now Bush changes course and says a timetable doesn’t make sense. “It doesn’t
make any sense to have a timetable. You know, if you give a timetable, you’re —
you’re conceding too much to the enemy.”

10. His campaign promises? At the end of the 2006 campaign...
... Bush was asked why he was so insistent on saying that the Democrats were siding with the terrorists and giving hope to the insurgents. He said he didn't really mean it, he was just campaigning.

Molly Ivins said it best: don't believe a word the man (Shrub) says. Judge him only by what he does.

11. Ah, the Campaigner-in-Chief said lots of things.
Remember his claim that he would jawbone the Saudis, and get them to open up the spigots? That didn't work out so well.

Unless jawbone means something different than I thought. :freak:

"nothing has changed."

Bush says...

“Any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap … a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed … When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so … because we value the Constitution.” - G.W. Bush, 20 April 2004

“We strongly believe (that warrantless wiretaps are) constitutional and if al Qaeda is calling into the United States we want to know why they’re calling.” - G.W. Bush, 17 August 2006
