Dennis Kucinich is being interviewed right now on Thom Hartmann |
|

Talking about healthcare.

1. "I don't want to give people any false hope". |
|
Discussion of single payer will not be allowed. It will never get a vote.

5. He turned to the amendment allowing states to create their own systems |
|
by re-writing ERISA. I was out of the room for a bit and didn't hear anything on the PO specifically.

7. Thanks -- I'd feel better if whatever we come up with Kuchinich supports in |
|
a way, even though it's not what he -- or we -- would ideally like. My concern about Dennis is that at times he's all or nothing, so I'd really like to see him get behind another option, one that we actually have a chance of approving.
I remember when he was running for Prez and he said he had a way that we could implement Single Payer essentially immediately. He wasn't concerned about the insurance industry which is fine by me.
I'm actually getting more hopeful of what will be passed -- just watching the committee this morning, there are some Dems there who seem to be committed to doing the very best we can. :hi:
PS -- if we do get a PO, I'm interested to hear what his take on it will be. I haven't heard anybody talking about the States taking it over. His opinion goes a long way with me.

9. The PO wasn't specifically mentioned--he focused primarily on single payer-- |

he sounded frustrated.
On Edit: The interview was very brief.

I liked that Dennis just talked about fixing the damage done by bush/cheney and that the Obama admin. must be held accountable in terms of the Patriot Act, wiretapping, etc...

Although I like Peter B. Collins, I tend to listen to Ed Schultz if Thom is not on.
I'll be sure to catch it on my Thom Hartmann podcast for today.
If you want to give Progressive Radio a greater voice, then subscribe to their podcasts. There are many progressive hosts to choose from but I subscribe to Thom Hartmann, Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller. When you subscribe, you can download daily podcasts to iTunes and listen to just the "meat" with NO COMMERCIALS. No, I'm not getting kickbacks. I wish.
Thanks again for letting me know Dennis Kucinich was on today. :hi:
