Anybody seeing an increased amount of health insurance ads where you are?
I've been noticing a recent uptick in the number of commercials selling private insurance plans here (Indiana)- that sound nice on the face but I'm sure are ridden with a lot of hidden details, loopholes, etc. that they're (probably) conveniently NOT advertising. The most frequent one I see is for something called Assurant Direct. Has anybody else noticed a similar surge in advertising for private insurance plans where you are? I suspect that it is NOT coincidental.

1. Big uptick here in Oregon. But it's all on the cable networks, so it's not local. nt

2. Yep. In the Bay Area in California. And our premiums pay for those ads!
I notced the same thing. It's driving me crazy. They even sponsor left-leaning radio & tv shows.

3. Yes, here in MN & WI, seeing a lot more ads, especially
for all of the fantastic "choices" that BC-BS is going to roll out soon. Affordable! You choose! It will be tailored to YOU!

What a crock! (last quote from me).

6. Worthless
Any policy that has exclusions for pre-existing conditions is a worthless fraud. When it comes to filing an expensive claim, they will simply deny it on the basis that the condition is pre-existing. They will do this even if there is no medical evidence to support their position. You can try to sue them, but they have plenty of lawyers and you will most likely be broke and/or dead before you even get to court.
