How Are Things in Minnesota |
|
I had always know it was possible that Tim Pawlenty might run for president in 2012. I just say a news headline that said he has put together a team to look into his running in 2012. That prompted me to ask the question how are things going in Minnesota. Are thing going farely well? How is the states budget? How are other things going?

1. Timmy the Tool is not all that popular here. |
|
A recent (last week) survey indicated that a majority of Minnesotans did not want him to run for President. We know he's a tool and that he has all the charisma of a corpse. He has an undeserved reputation for being relatively moderate, but he isn't -- he just doesn't froth at the mouth like some of the more obviously batshit crazy wingnuts. Lately, however, he's taken an even more extreme turn to the right, probably to get the wacko base interested in him.
He's much more awful than he appears from TV interviews, and he's really sucking up to the lunatic fringe, but I'd be very surprised if he gets very far.

4. Charisma of a corpse - I think you are overselling his charisma |
|
:hi:
Maybe he can do for America what he did to Minnesota's bridges.....

2. Pawlenty has succeeded in bringing Minnesota close to the level |
|
of Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. I'm sure that he is upset that despite a lack of money paid to schools, our teachers continue to produce students, who rank at the top of American education. If he had one more term, he would get closer, I'm sure.
The only thing that hasn't changed is that Minnesota only gets about $0.75 on ever dollar we pay in Federal taxes. Mississippi and Alabama struck much better deals.

He's done his best to turn this state into a cold Alabama. The roads are a mess, the bridges collapse, the schools are falling apart. It didn't used to be like this.

6. I especially notice the roads. |
|
The state roads, especially those outside the metro area, are a total wreck. Badly patched, lots of potholes, crumbling. You can tell Timmy the Tool has been in 'charge' way too long.

5. Pawlenty is a joke here |
|
Last I heard 61% of Minnesotans said they wouldn't support him if he ran for president. He probably wouldn't have even been our governor in the first place if the DFL vote wasn't split in '02.
Also, recently, I read a City Pages where he was elected worst politician in Minnesota by the readers. (Michele Bachmann was the magazine's choice.)
Honestly, I think we should be watching Bobby Jindal more than Tim Pawlenty as far as 2012 goes.

7. Huckabee is a threat too. Unlike most Republicans, he's actually likable. |

8. I agree about Huckabee |
|
Driving around I see more "Don't blame me, I voted for Huckabee" stickers than I do Pawlenty stickers or signs.
Apparently some Republicans think Sarah Palin will be a threat in 2012 too. I have trouble believing that one. Every time I hear her say something I wonder "Who can possibly buy into this crap?"

9. Timmy screams "No new taxes!" every 5 minutes. Then every possible fee in the state, |
|
from hunting and fishing licenses to Motor V to park fees has been raised. The corporate fat cats support him, stupid people love him, and the state swirls round the drain.
He originally wanted to run for US Senate, and Normie Coleman wanted to run for Guv. Cheney and the boys sat down with them and said, "Timmy, you take Guv, and Normie goes to the Senate" -- they answered "Yes, sir!" and the rest is history. They are both rethuglican tools.

10. Timmy the Tyrant is trying to destroy this state with his anti-tax BS. |
|
He decided to unilaterally cut spending by executive fiat when he vetoed the budget because it had tax increases. I hate that bastard! Especially since as a disabled person I get care-giving assistance from a local non-profit that gets state funding and that fudning has been reduced. :grr:
