Actually, both companies are legal. One produces adult videos. The other is a strip club.

However, there is something more to it. These "awards" were pay-for-play. Newt's group culled a list of small businesses, sent them fancy letters telling them they had won an award and if they wanted to attend the special ceremony with Gingrich himself, all they had to do was pay $5000.00 plus expenses. Turns out, two of those businesses on the list were adult-oriented businesses.
