16. I don't think so. I've been looking at the Nevada newspapers and so far not a peep that I can find.
Seems they are going to ignore it?

2. This will have little or no impact.
Like all the other Repug scumbags caught with their pants down, Ensign will refuse to resign and bank on the public largely forgetting the scandal by the time he's up for re-election.

9. Color him done and color him a hypocrite:
Mr. Ensign spent part of the summer apologizing to constituents. Drawing a contrast with former President Bill Clinton, whom he had voted to impeach as a House member during the Monica Lewinsky affair, Mr. Ensign said in August that his infidelity was largely a personal matter and added, “I haven’t done anything legally wrong.”

From page two of the OP's link.

So......Sen. Esign, exactly how was Clinton's less personal and more illegal?

10. Ensign, Conrad, The Family.
Juicy.

Ensign dragged so many people into this mess, I'd be surprised if he had a single friend left in Washington at this point.

13. They should be more worried about passing h.c. instead of this little
mini-series that's made for the LifeTime Movie Channel.. WTF do these people do.. These are grown ass men.. living in a weird home, having affairs, and then involving everyone around them when they are about to get caught.. AND they want to sloooow down h.c. Pathetic. Most of us don't have the time to think about even having an affair, let alone getting the mistresses husband a lobbying position to govt agencies by large donors. Good Lord. The Obama's are both out of town, please let a large sink hole open up and swallow D.C. whole.

14. I Would Say Harry Reid
has a better chance of being toast than John Ensign. A lot of people in Nevada still love this twerp, but Reid is widely hated.

17. I just love American electoral politics...
People can be stupid enough to vote for hypocritical shitstains like Ensign with impunity, but God forbid you're an African-American living in Florda.

18. How is it that congress critters can contact
public consulting firms and get someone hired and line up lobbying clients?
Why is this such an easy thing to do - how often does it happen?

That in and of itself should warrant an investigation by the feds of all political firms and their connections to congress.

In the coming months, the senator arranged for Mr. Hampton to join a political consulting firm and lined up several donors as his lobbying clients, according to interviews, e-mail messages and other records. Mr. Ensign and his staff then repeatedly intervened on the companies’ behalf with federal agencies, often after urging from Mr. Hampton.

19. If I were a Rerpublican who donates to the party . . .
. . . I'd want this guy tarred and feathered.

On the other hand, I'm not a Republican, and I want this guy tarred and feathered. What a betrayal of trust.
