A bad weekend ahead--
I will be forced to spend time with wealthy, rabid right wingnuts (sister-in-law's family).
I need some moral support, and some snappy comebacks.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

10. Oh yeah, when a baby is involved there's no option but to go
I got nothing for you. Maybe that's for the best. I'd hate to give you some tidbit to say that causes World War 3 in the family - at a christening. Oy!

Hang in there.

4. Think of yourself as an anthropologist
from another planet, studying the indigenous peoples of this one, and you've been assigned to do a field report on one of the small, endangered subgroups.

6. Maintain your dignity
and conduct yourself with class and decorum. Living well is truly the best revenge. Feel sorry for the poor unenlightened dolts.

7. Start off a conversation with "I hear Sarah Palin has written a book."

That should make for some interesting conversation.

Just try to avoid laughing at the comments.

8. Turn them into cartoons
I am serious. When they start babbling their BS, picture them in your mind as cartoons. You will find yourself smiling at them, just like you do at the TV cartoon shows. This is a technique I use. Good luck!

11. The is better than picturing them nude
There are some people who should never even be imagined nude. Rush, for one.

9. My condolences.
If the topic turns to politics talk about how much corruption exists in Congress. Usually they will agree on that. But if they start spouting birther crap, you will have to start laughing derisively at them. And uncontrollable laughter can cause one to accidentally spill food and drinks, knock things over, and have all kinds of fun! =D

13. Whenever I visit my fundie relatives...
I steer away from politics and stick to more pleasant topics. If politics comes up, then I just don't engage them.

Sometimes the only way to win is simply not to play.
