A few questions re: Morning Joe Scum....
1. Where TF is that fat bastard? "Vacation", 'drying out"...where?

2. These bottom-feeders who populate his show...do they have enough faux outrage for the whole world, or just the United States? I've never seen such moralizing shits go on and on about everyone else's personal lives as though their crap doesn't stink.

3. Who is MEka's therapist and why isn't (s)he doing a better job?

1. The snark is what gags me
I don't even ever watch a minute of their morning bullshit. Right wing snark.

2. he had surgery and is recuperating
you might not care for the hosts, but they have the best guests of the morning shows.

Plus they get viewers . . . don't they. So they must be doing something right.

3. sinus surgery or something, right?
Though it was kind of weird how he was still able to do his radio show like that.

I actually wouldn't mind Joe being on this morning. As much as I hate Joe, he did tell Mika once when she was complaining that she didn't ever want Elliot Spitzer to be a guest on the show because of the affair that she was being too high and mighty.

4. I disagree...
they are the King Rat...the morning is a vast wasteland and they are the 'best' of the worst...as far as the guests go, many times they're the same folk who are hawking their books, many of which are collected columns or the like. It's the lazy man's time if you ask me...these people are almost all intellectually lazy except Buchanan who, other than the fact that he's a Holocuast-denying, bigoted, anti-Semitic, Isolationist lump of pig vomit. That's the 'bright', 'venerated' man on the show.

6. There is absolutely no reason to watch that show....
..their guests are the same people that appear on every other cable show, all the time and say the same thing they say on those other shows..

All they do is discuss insider beltway republican leaning perception of events and not the actual facts or stories the events themselves.

The only reason anyone watches or appears on the show is because they are not as batshit insane as Fox and Friends. There is a stellar bar to cover.

Honestly people would probably be better served and informed on actual news and events beyond "OMG SO AND SO SAID THIS ABOUT THE OTHER PERSON!!!!!!" by watching local news than they would watching that dreck. Shit, Good Morning America, Today and the CBS Morning show have more actual news and information than Morning Joe does.

7. so Sibelius is not a worthy guest . . .
well - to each his own. That is why there are multiple channels.

I guess one thing we have here that you are missing - we get 24 hour local news and 24 national news. So . . . we can actually watch both. Pretty, cool, huh.

Enjoy the capticating CBS Morning Show . . . sure to bring enlightenment into anyone's life.

18. I don't watch any of it....
I work. And when I need to be informed about something that is going on I try to read about it rather than listening to idiots on TV opine about it and attempt to glean anything from that. Have I seen all of these shows at one point? Sure. But cable news is nothing but an echo chamber of talking points and Morning Joe personifies this and it's this culture of talking head opinions that is the main reason why this country continues to be so ill informed and contentious and angry.

And I'm sure Sebelius is going to say the same things she's said on every other show she's appeared on, and in her print interviews and press conferences.

If people watch it, that's their choice and their business. People watch pro-wrestling and reality shows about celebrity rehab as well and I say more power to them as well. Just don't try and tell me there's much difference between that and the cable news chat fests (particularly Morning Joe). What Mika and Joe say about current events is of no more importance to me than hearing about whether the singer of some one hit wonder band fell off the wagon and started doing drugs again or whether The Rock put someone in a sleeper hold. The difference is, the people who watch those shows don't try to convince me that they are important and informative. And ultimately, yes the people who watch Morning Joe are going to be no more informed about anything than someone who gets their news from any other source, even network fluff fests.

20. doesn't have to be an either-or situation.
Reading and watching are both possible. I read the local paper each morning. In doing so, it does not keep me from watching the morning show of choice. And, the same comments you made re cable news apply to the newpapers, news magazines and the like. There is a vast difference between the Orlando paper and the Daytona paper - not unlike FOX vs MS-NBC. So reading is not the panacea.

The Sebelius spot was worth watching - in my opinion. But . . . nothing that will be found written about - particularly since it will probably be old news by the time it hits print.

5. I'm not sure if DUers realize this....
...but calling him and the show snarky names doesn't negate the fact that they are in fact watching the show, and contributing towards its viewership and it's ratings and watching its advertising.

9. exactly. The DU tradition of bashing the show daily just adds to the viewers.
Everyone hoping to come up with a gem worth posting.

Mourning Ho-Jo is becoming a universal JOKE.

All of Joe's sycophants are oh, so, TRANSPARENT and VILE. ;)

13. count me as one of 'em - I watch
best guests in the morning.

Of course, in doing so, I miss all that hard-hitting journalism from the Today Show and the CBS Morning Show. Of course, they rate even fewer viewers as verified by lack of DU criticism.

pencil and gouge out my eardrums. And don't get me started on Mika. She's an embarrassment to professional, middle aged women everywhere.

You go enjoy ... hat's off for your tolerance: you are one of the very few progressives who can appreciate the conversational equivalent to "nails on a chalkboard."

14. What is a morning Joe? Leaving the house every day before 8:00, I don't have a clue.
Edited on Fri Oct-02-09 06:56 AM by Cyrano
Usually, my TV doesn't go on before early evening on weekdays, so I have to admit to never having seen this morning Joe person.

Further, what is a Meka? From what I can make out, it's a person, but it sure as hell sounds like some kind of battery driven sex toy.

And finally, why aren't people reading newspapers online at that time of day, or reading kos, or one of the other great blogs that pretty much cover the morning news?

15. If you think a Meka is a sex toy, you are in bad shape with your sex life.
She's a piece of goo all fluffed up to be outraged every morning...

17. I'll admit some of us love to "hate them."
When people report back here, I see the vapid personalities as unattractive qualities that I've either overcome or that I see from others ... who still benefit from such posturing.

For me, the show is representative of most everything that should be denounced by professional journalists. Way too folksy ... not unlike corporate sponsored talk radio stations that only serve to promote their own best interests. What's most inane is that "the message" is not so thinly veiled. That's how arrogant these POSs are today. :(
