WAIT WAIT WAIT!
Do the Democrats really have a spine, or were the last two days a dream? Somebody pinch me.

Did Grayson really punch the GOP squarely in the mouth? And when asked to apologize did he hit them again? Hard?

Did Reid really promise a public option? Did Pelosi say Grayson isn't going to apologize?

I feel like we've left the bizzaro universe we've lived in the for the last 8 years and come back to the true reality.

WAIT!

If I am dreamin, and I don't really know it, then how do I know I'm dreamin? How do we know tasty wheat really tastes like tastey wheat?

WAIT!

No, really, wake me up. No stop. Never mind.

WAIT!

Open the pod bay doors Hal. I can't do that Dave. Look at all the colors. All these new worlds are yours, save Europa.

Oh, I'm lovin it.

10. I really hope it continues
And I hope republicans decide to filibuster any health care reform bill. Not only will it tie up congress at a time when there is a lot of work to be done, but those 60 votes will suddenly show up when the public starts crying out for action. If the Health Care Reform bill is played out correctly in congress, it could be one of the last nails in the coffin of the republican party as it stands today. I'm hoping that a lot of this stuff is part of some kind of overall strategy to really shake things up a lot. Those midterm elections are coming up faster and faster, and if out of this the republicans end up being the ones with egg on their faces, its going to create a lot of change in congress.
That being said, I also think its important for there to be an 'opposition' party, to keep everyone honest. I just think that as it stands right now, the republican party has lost that, and their only way to show they're doing anything is to oppose everything the democrats try to do. There is no honest debate, none of that. They've got nothing. I wouldn't expect a huge swing in congress this election cycle as far as the balance of power, but I do see a lot of these neoconservative mouth breathers being voted out of office, and hopefully a new breed of more reasonable republicans, who can actually have an honest debate (even though I'll probably disagree with them most of the time) will be swept in.
As much as I'd like to see a moderate socialist rule in this country, a single party system always ends up being self-destructive because there is no balance. I just hope that this is going to force a lot of change in the republican party, and make them shift back more towards the center instead of off the charts to the right like they are now.
