Just let it fly. And let's try to be respectful of each other. Remember, another person's having an opinion is a sign of sentience. Be kind to each other.

1. I think posting real possible consequences of Ensign's raging
bad behavior would be more fun. :hide:

3. +1

Still GEM$NBC's orchestrated outrage is about the sad truth that Letterman rules the late night shows on the non-cable networks.

2. Not making shit up, but an observation. The night before last he had Madonna on.
She said something and he mentioned that he was now married. She went into a whole bit about how being married is a bad idea, and Dave was very very uncomfortable discussing it.

4. Dave's Always Been Unconfortable About His Private Life...
If you recall, several years ago he had a stalker who chased after him for a couple years. Not sure about you, but I'd put up a bunch of walls had I been in that situation. And Dave appears to have built a lot of walls over the years...and with special walls come special rules...or the justification.

In the past Dave said he feared marriage based on the bad experience of his first marriage. He went years before he admitted his relationship with Gina and until recently would talk about his son but wouldn't put up a picture or have him appear. He led a very private life...and a double or triple one. Complicated live are always uncomfortable to discuss...Maonna didn't look too comfy either.

Cheers...

6. I remember the stalker incident and

that he has had a cone of silence around his personal life, except for mentioning his son from time to time, but I did feel it odd at the time.

BTW..yes, she was very uncomfortable. It was almost as awkard as his interview with Joaquin Phoenix

5. That whole show, Dave seemed off his game
Madonna was really weird too, but having nothing to compare, I thought maybe that was normal for her.

7. Here's my take. I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist (quite the contrary)
Edited on Fri Oct-02-09 08:27 AM by WilmywoodNCparalegal
but I'm wondering if this is the work of a Palin or GOP operative, trying to discredit Letterman as he was integral (as was Tina Fey, IMHO) to dispelling the notion of ex-Gov. Palin as a viable candidate or political agent.

I guess the things that are suspect, based on the few facts now known, are: (1) how did this man know what Letterman was doing with women on his staff? (2) why a paltry $2 million? That's a drop in the water for someone like Letterman. (3) it seems the whole extortion attempt was poorly organized and carried out. I could come up with better extortion attempts just by reading a bunch of novel or watching movies. Why was this one carried out so badly, almost so badly that it makes me think it was planned this way on purpose?

17. And there is the final word
All of these celebrity threads, well, most people take 'sides' and take that which is not their own to be something they own. When I read the frothing passions for example, for or against Polanski, to me, both sides are exactly the same sort of awful. Vultures picking for bits of life that are not their own. The victim in that case has said that the rape was terrible but also that the way the media treated her was worse. Public blogging is a part of the media now. And that woman does not minimize the crime that happened to her she simply says the media has been worse than the rapist. Folks who wish to take up false passion and write about her from any view are not respecting her wishes, and she is an actual person. She says no, and Polanski and the media say 'no means yes' as do many here who claim to be all about the victim. They are all about themselves. Period.

15. I thought people would be upset about a boss having sex
with several of the women that work for him. You know, that position of power thing and all.

Apparently no one cares anymore.

I never did, but in the past it was used as a case for sexual harassment.
