12. I don't know why Limbaugh does what he does, but not wanting the Olympics doesn't make a person bad.
We have folks around here (Tampa Bay) who have been pushing for the Olympics for years and most of the people around here oppose it because it will be an expensive mess.

We were promised huge benefits from the Super Bowl, but when it was all over, it hadn't happened.

4. use it! show that the right wingnuts are anti-American
and want America to fail.

Now more than ever before, wanting to prevent job growth in the US may be viewed by the masses as treasonous behavior

5. Any time people lose work is a good time for a plutocrat
because it means fewer dollars will escape his grasp to support a bunch of little people.

He's also just playing up the GOP game of country mouse versus city slicker and any time the city slickers lose out is a time for the mice to celebrate having people join them in lack of opportunity. Spite sells.

20. Do you live there?
In 2005 Houston tried to get the 2012 Olympics, I was against it and was planning to take it off from work to get out of dodge if they won.

11. I can see that, from a NIMBY point of view.

We attended Atlanta and Salt Lake City Olympics and they certainly change residents' lives for years.

On the other hand, Limbaugh's only investment seems to be blind bashing of Obama.

8. Its things like this that keep him marginalized

It shows that OReilly is a lot better strategist.

If occasionally Limbaugh would do the unpredicted then people wouldn't see him as petty.

He could have said "This one I was with the President and I am sure that he did his best", then people would listen more when he criticized him on a policy issue.

Its good for us, this way no one in the middle listens to him at all.

Hosting the Olympics are a net loser for the locality.

22. I was about to say the same thing
after researching it today it seems that turning a profit on the olympics almost never (if at all) happens.

It's generally a major net loss for the city once all factors are considered.

15. That asshole would criticize either way.
If Chicago would have been awarded the olympics, Rush would have said that it was due to corruption and Chicago cronyism & that the other cities were cheated.
