1. From what is being reported here in Chicago and from stuff I have read

The IOC and the USIOC are at odds with each other because of the USIOC standing in the international olympic community and the proposed Olympic Channel that was going to be on cable tv in America in which the USIOC were doing an end around the IOC and negotiating the network without their input.

There is a lot of resentment and bad feelings towards the US based on those things and that Chicago not getting the games probably had more to do with that than anything.

Hasn't Obama paid them back enough by appointing that corporate stooge Arne Duncan to be Secretary of Education?
