Here's a bumper sticker idea for when we win the health care debate... |
|
...and freeper heads are exploding!
America: Love It in Good Health or Leave It!
I got the idea from that particular bumper sticker of the conservatives from the '60s and '70s.

Served in WWII and Korea, until a medical disability led to his retirement. He died a few months later. That was 1954.
For the first 10-12 years of my life, my family used the Naval dispensary at Terminal Island (southern California). Whenever we were injured or sick, mom drove us down to the dispensary (we lived in Long Beach). We signed in and waited our turn. Always had good health service. And the doctors were wonderful. I have no complaints with government-run health care. And I always laugh at those freepers and the like who scream the loudest about the "evils" of "government-run health care."
Oh, and another note, if I may: My brother suffered from a kidney disease that eventually killed him at the age of 13 in 1961. My mom told me years later that he became so well-known at the dispensary that when she took him in, the staff would discretely place his folder at the top of the pile, meaning he would be seen next. They knew how much he was suffering.
And another note, on the lighter side: When my dad was ill, he spent some time at the Naval hospital in Corona, California. Once when my brother had to be admitted for a few days for tests and observation, he too went out to Corona and the admissions staff put him in the same room with our dad! The two of them were "roomies." :D
I've got no qualms regarding government-run health care...

communist healthcare from the VA. He got both his aortic aneurysm surgeries FREE from them, and that plus his communist Medicare kept him hale and hearty until he died at age 88.
Oh, and the death panel that chose to shut off his life support at the end consisted of my grandmother and my sister. THE HORROR!!!!!!
