9.8% Unemployment - *Nobody* Predicted It! Nobody Could Have Forseen It! |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-03-09 02:46 PM by MannyGoldstein
Except for at least two Nobel prize-winning economists (Krugman and Stiglitz) who are under the Obama bus next to Dr. Dean and the "Left of the Left" who want actual health care reform.
Coming next: mandatory health insurance with no public option.
Man, I'm so, so tired of this crap. I've got a torch and pitchfork - somebody point the way.

3. No place like DU to get caught up on Obama bashing |
|
Ridiculous.
This President has done more for us in the last 8 months than the Bush did in the last 8 years.
Instead of bashing him, you should be thanking him.

There are professional cynics that never go out and post here incessantly - they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by irking the crap out of people. One handy feature disallows this behavior...

25. You're (you are) joking, right? |
|
This is cheerleading bordering on the delusional.
saved the economy For Wall Street criminals. The rest of us can go hang.
saved millions of jobs Wrong again.
well on his way to ending two wars By sending more troops to Afghanistan
well on his way to delivering healthcare to all. With no universal coverage and no public option? Puh-lease. Any meaningful reform will happen because the House progressives demand it, not because there was any leadership from the White House.
raised minimum wage Wrong again. That was the last Congress under Chimpy
restored honor to America Any Bush war criminals in jail yet? Any even under investigation? No, we have to "look forward".
restore honor to the Whitehouse Was that before or after the secret meetings with healthcare execs?
gave our children a wonderful role model to look up to You got me there. Michelle is pretty cool.
gave us all a model of which to live our lives. I don't live my life by caving in to bullies.
introduced transparency to government What was that? I'm having trouble reading through all the back room cigar smoke.
exposed the deceit and corruption of the bush years Ahahahahhahhahah. Breath. Ahahahahahahahahah.
saved the auto industry Really? I must have missed that part what with all the plant closings.
restoring equality to GLBT Americans By telling them to wait while Rick Warren prays for them.
cleaned up election fraud OK, you're just making things up now.
crime is down I guess those nights Barack spends patrolling the streets are starting to pay off.
removed thousand and thousands of gas guzzlers from the road The first and only reasonable thing you've said in the entire post.
sponsored bill to halt climate change You mean proposed a bill that will incrementally nibble around the edges of climate change -- until the Repukes whine and then it won't even have that.
helped sweep the house and senate of significant Republican influence (coat tails) Who cares when he still treats the Repukes as if they have a majority?
brought us all closer together as Americans Riiiight, and you can see the closeness right here on DU.
Most importantly...delivered on his promise. Change has arrived in America and it is wonderful. Yes, he promised to bring empty words to Washington. And boy, has he delivered.
That just scratches the surface. And he has another 7.5 years to go. I can hardly wait :eyes:

way back in November of 2008. Why else did they talk about the need to bail out so many groups and a massive "stimulus" project. I think almost everyone thought it would go higher and most of us think it still will. Who is acting surprised?

21. Since 2007 we have brought in at least 200K H1-Bs. (>6M total). 65K more starting Feb. |
|
As soon as those H1-Bs are hired then Americans can be considered for employment.

5. The administration predicted it too. |
|
They have always maintained that things may get worse before they get better. That's what happens when your predecessor systematically and completely destroys the country. You may want to head South to Dallas with your torches if you really want to get to the root of the problem.
I'm out of work because my boss was an asshole and a criminal, Obama didn't lay me off.

27. Administration Said No More Than 8% |
|
e.g., http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2009/07/biden-we-misread-the-economy-.htmlIn the same article, Biden is quoted as saying "The truth is, we and everyone else misread the economy", which is nonsense. They chose to ignore the experts; of course, the experts were right.
