I wish some group would find a way to make "Healthcare Around the World" commercials |
|
Americans are insular and uninformed. I would love to see the collective jaw drop if there was an ad of a Canadian family with a breakdown of their various procedures and then if the camera panned back and the head of household said "Cost? We paid $27 a week for our coverage. It doesn't matter where I am employed. We had no deductables, we had no co-pays, and our drugs were included. We did not wait any longer than you wait for a procedure and our outcomes are comparable."
Voice over - America is NOT number 1 in Healthcare. We have a long way to go. Support reform
And then I think it would be great if they did the same with other countries. Americans just need to know they are being TAKEN and exploited by a particular industry that is bleeding our country and our individual households dry.

1. I regret that I have but one rec... This is the mistake we made... we didn't start YEARS ago to |
|
educate people.
I was volunteering with a group of doctors and nurses working on state-wide health care issues, and they were mostly talking to each other.
While PNHP has done good things, they weren't addressing the population with this information.
They are just now beginning to do that...
Too bad.

Go USA! Go USA! Go USA!
(Waving of flag)
We're #1! We're #1! We're #1!
:sarcasm:
Sorry for the sarcasm, but it would be immediately labeled as communist, socialist, U.N. propaganda, etc. etc.
The only way Republicans would accept it, is if Ronald RayGun rose from the grave and told them it was true.
If Jesus Christ returned and told them it was true, they would claim he was a communist and demand that he be shot for being treasonous pinko commie hippie terrorist.

8. Somehow we have to counter the misinformation "We have the best healthcare in the world" |
|
I just can't believe how uninformed, misinformed the general public is. I guess they don't read or travel.
Sometimes I feel like America is becoming this huge, gray, barren desert filled with people with oversized egos who are building a giant wall to keep what they think are the hordes desiring to get in, out - never realizing that outside the wall it's like Candyland, with chocolate moats and peppermint trees. That's how I'm starting to see countries with things like universal healthcare - a great big, sweet, unobtainable dream.
