Radio Personality Fired After Allegedly Shooting Wife, Dog

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Former Real Radio host Shannon Burke appeared before a judge on Wednesday, and as he left the hearing he announced he plans to be back on the air soon.

"Things are going good with my wife. Looking forward to getting back on air," Burke said.

Burke said he has reconciled with his wife, Catherine Burke, and that she has forgiven him for allegedly shooting her and her dog in their Altamonte Springs home in May.

Another hearing in the case is scheduled for November, but in court on Wednesday attorneys said they believe they'll be able to resolve the case without going to trial.

She then claimed she thought it was all an accident, and she only made the first claim because she'd just been shot in the head and wasn't thinking clearly. (I just read the links at the site, I didn't know any of that before).

5. I swear being in the media cooks your brain.

I speak from experience here. I've never met so many dysfunctional people in one place in my life as when I was in radio. We even had our share of potentially dangerous and actually dangerous incidents even in a very small market. People's egos get inflated, they sometimes become someone else at their job, radio is acting in a way, and sometimes you can't leave it at work.
