Billy Graham's Franklin son is on MSNBC now. "God loves us!" |
|
And there is evil in the world and there is a devil called the 'god of this age', we can see that by what happened today at VT...
===
Yes, aside from Toby Keith writing some lame ditty about it, this is just what American needs to 'heal', a lecture from someone who called Islam evil, HIV is God's punishment, and Hurricane Katrina was God's way of washing a perverted city clean.

19. Well, maybe not our human conception of God, which, being of human imagining, is likely to be flawed |
|
God could be a Creator, but even the OT God destroyed much of his original experiment.

Well, I don't want to spread rumors, but I understand there's a reason why Billy Graham's son's prayers have been so heart-felt. He's been to heaven on earth, you see. Once you go gay, there's no other way.

9. Does God hate those who were murdered, or does God love them more than us? |
|
I am confused. God loves us. He loved those who were murdered more because now they get to go be with God? Or is it that God loves us more than them because God let them be murdered? Or is it that God loves us enough to give us time to practice grief? I am confused.

14. No, god loves the survivers parents who prayed that their kids would be safe... |
|
... I just heard a mom on the radio saying that her prayers were answered. Apparently the kids who died didn't have parents who prayed hard enough.

13. Franklin Graham likely has his fans. I've spoken disparagingly of him |
|
on DU before and was flooded with cries of his indignant supporters here.
Nevertheless, my opinion of him, already negative a few years back, is worse than ever.
I consider him a hybrid between a vaudeville act and one of those people who dress in mascot costumes at NBA games. And that's on a good day.
I don't think he struck the right tone with these remarks and I think he misunderstands the context on both ends of what he's saying. It's too thick to navigate and it's too thin to plow, as the song goes.
Yuck.

The only evil in this world is sitting or should I say squatting in the White House. Franklin Graham doesn't have a clue, if he did he could not make such asinine statements.

22. Franklin Graham said nothing wrong |
|
Maybe I don't agree with all of what he says, but he was just trying to bring some comfort to people and to explain something that is so difficult for many people to understand.
I for one believe there is evil in the world, or something close to it. Maybe people need to give it a name to remind themselves and others it is there. But if you don't really believe in evil, you're just going to ignore the stuff that is deeply wrong.
I mean, plenty of people here think Bush is "evil"? And yet when somebody like the Rev. Graham suggests evil is real, they don't understand how somebody in this day and age can believe in the concept of ultimate evil.

23. Speaking strictly for myself, I don't need Franklin Graham to tell me |
|
that shooting 33 people is wrong.
I don't need Franklin Graham to define "evil" as you are defining it, as he defined it yesterday, either.
I'd be hard-pressed, in fact, to tell you why I need Franklin Graham at all.
