It is 75.00 a case out there - (hard to imagine) in Iraq.

Man, ask this question - if those kids are sick - how sick do they have to be before they have to not report to duty?

Get the answer to that question - and I will never have to post again. This goes deep.

And you won't.

Joe

1. I don't get the correlation between drinking soda and not reporting for duty.
Is this particular thread any relation to the one linked below?

6. Well see, I have a green screen next to my keyboard.
I have a green body suit with little sensors on it, kind of what Andy Sirkis wore when he was performing Gollum for Lord of the Rings. Anyway, I have a little computer generated character that was designed just for me. When I want to post my little character laughing and rolling on the floor, I quick! flip on the multi-camera system in my home, slip into the green body suit, act out the laughing rolly in front of the green screen, edit it with my professional editing programs on my computer, download it, pick it up in Photobucket and then paste it here, into my DU post.

It's real simple. You should give it a try.

13. JOE! there are civility rules. read them!
"Do not post personal attacks or engage in name-calling against other individual members of this discussion board. Even very mild personal attacks are forbidden.

"Do not hurl insults at other individual members of this message board. Do not tell someone, "shut up," "screw you," "fuck off," "in your face," or some other insult.

"There are no exceptions to these civility rules. You cannot attack someone because they attacked you first, or because that person "deserved it," or because you think someone is a disruptor. We consider it a personal attack to call a liar a liar, to call a moron a moron, or to call a jerk a jerk.

16. I am sorry- I do not mean to attack anyone here's
character.

If I did- I did not mean to.

Don't misunderstand me - I mean what I say. I am a paciist - don't attack me and I will not you.

But man - my dad was a fighter pilot and my mom an evac nurse - And my uncles commanded in that other war. And I believe in them.

I don't back down - not from this!!

Not in my CHARACTER!!!

Joe

19. Joe, I'm not sure what you're not backing down on.
I think you took the wrong intention when reading my post. It wasn't meant to be an attack or to demean your character.

To be honest, this is the third thread that doesn't make a ton of sense. And even though I do not know you personally, I am a bit worried for you right now. If everything isn't ok, please contact someone you know who can help you. But cryptic posts like this one and the other two are concerning.

Pleae take good care of yourself.

15. When I was in Iraq
Soda was cheap. Iraqi's had locally made brands and they bought them for a nickel a bottle. We paid .50 cents a bottle for them.

I don't get the relationship between soda and ending the war though, would you enlighten us?

22. They had several
There were fruit flavored drinks with bits of fruit in them. I liked the orange one quite a bit but it was made in Kuwait, I believe. Then they had bottles that look like Pepsi and were cola flavored, orange flavored and I that was all I saw. The Iraqis who worked with me said they were made in one of the towns outside of Baghdad. There was a kid outside the rear gate at FOB Scania who sold them to the soldiers and civilians who shopped at the Market there.

I don't remember the exact name but I think it was named after the town in which it was made. It had Arabic writing on it and it was a glass bottle.

21. Hi Joe!
:hi: It's Wendy

How are you?

If you are wondering how to use the smilie faces I can tell you that when you are posting a reply there is a box above that says "message options" there should be a link to open "smilie lookup table". Click on this and a box will open and show you the HTML for the :).
You can copy and paste or just type them out yourself.

Has Troy flown back? My husband was on a flight from Frankfurt to Kuwait City on Sunday and talked to some young men on their way back to Iraq.
One of the most disturbing things they told him was that the military was changing their ICD (in country date) without informing them or giving reason. This is just more evidence of how desperate and stretched the military is that they just change the dates on the paperwork and leave it as a surprise for these young soldiers looking forward to getting out. So unfair.

You asked about how sick do they have to be before they do not have to report for duty? I'm sure I don't have the answer but I was wondering if you meant while they were stateside or already deployed to an oversea base? I imagine it gets pretty hard to prove an illness unless it's very obvious.
Is Troy OK? I hope so.

My husband also talked to a couple of contractors going back to Iraq and they told him that the company that ended up paying them told them that a part of their bonus was going to be donated to Walter Reid Hospital. The one man said that was fine with him but he has repeatedly asked for some kind of receipt or paperwork for tax purpose and nothing. They say they have nothing to give him. Strange.....

I believe you about the soda and everything else. This just needs to end. America security is quite compromised.
Something is going to happen and we won't be prepared at all I'm afraid.

Take care

Wendy

I guess I am just a nusannce for the kid now -

I think this is really bad now.

Wendy - about the prison thing - it is true -- all of it - we really did those things.

I am ashamed.

Something is coming alright.
