If Reid refuses to put Public Option in merged bill, should Reid be sacked?
Edited on Thu Oct-08-09 09:35 PM by Faryn Balyncd

What kind of a Democratic leader would ignore 61% to 65% of Americans?

And is a leader worthy of his office if he were to create a merged bill without a public option when even 47% of REPUBLICAN voters support a public option?

(just askin')

1. I say sack him anyway - or else we're going to have to go through this again on climate...
and again and again.

4. He's not doing a great job of it
I think we need a change in his position. Senator Reed is simply a "poor fit".

6. I don't believe he does.
Could we stop the Chicken Little act until we actually have some basis for our fears, please?

7. How can that man be Majority Leader??? Patrick Leahy would be better.
Reid is doing more harm than good, never mind that he makes us look like such wimps.

11. I've read some convoluted logic saying it might be good to leave it out
some strategy where leaving the public option out of the Senate bill would make its ultimate passage more likely.

I didn't understand it, maybe someone else knows what I'm talking about and can explain it.

13. Yeah, but it won't happen
The Democrats are suffering from political Battered Wife Syndrome. We think we deserve the abuse our leaders and the Republicans give us.

20. Not really. I once said "Harry REID is a worthless SACK of shit" in another DU post
Sorry, jgraz.

Well, maybe I didn't actually use those exact words, but I most likely did since I think he's a despicable wimp of a right-wing Democrat who should be holding Al Franken's briefcase instead of claiming to be the Senate Majority Leader.

All he's good for is keeping the minerals extraction industry from having to pay anything to the United States treasury for all of the BILLIONS of dollars of minerals they dig out of our good earth.
