1. "The Committee wasn't about to take a chance with the violent fringe ..." |
|
"...in America and put off awarding the prize to Obama."
You're saying they gave him the award because he might be dead by this time next year?
Just looking of clarification...

2. I'm saying the committee is well aware of the history of violence against men of peace |
|
in the United States and that Obama has done more for peace in his first eight months than nearly any president in history.

Gawd, I hope that the Committee doesn't think like that.

Please tell us what he has done for peace. He sure as hell has not ended the two wars of aggression our country started. He has not shut down the rendition program. He has not started investigations of the war criminals in previous administrations. He has continued to give out welfare to large corporations at the expense of everyday people. He is only giving lip service to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Just what the fuck has he done to make him worthy of such an honor?

The Nobel Committee is hardly America-Centric. They awarded him the prize for his affect on the whole world.

11. Exactly! The committee has shown that |
|
more people outside of the U.S. are smarter than those in this divided country. And those that say he does not deserve it are blind. It took 8 years of imperialism to get us in such a mess and it can't be remedied in one year. I am proud Obama is my president.

10. I seriously doubt that was a factor. |
|
I believe his backing off the plan to install missiles in Europe may have been the biggest factor.

12. Joe Scarborough's reaction this morning was despicable and |
|
he is part of the crowd that the Committee was addressing. They like Pres. Obama's ideals and do see the difference in the world community. Pres. Obama is a leader that embraces the world and is not governing via fear. The prize is an endorsement of those ideals.
The GOP are defeated with their mocking responses to this. It's a real slap in the face to their ideals.
