Whatever you think of abortion or the merits of this law, I hope you will take a look at this form and consider the implications if a similar form were required for other medical interventions. Such as the prescription of Viagra? having a gallbladder operation? heart condition? (did the patient follow a recommended diet prior to the need for treatment?) ... and so forth...
I initially found the report about this law repulsive. After reading the legislation and looking at the form, I am beyond appalled.
(interestingly, the form refers to some other law about ultrasound - is that the one that was already overturned? Then there is the thing about no personally identifiable info, but of course if the pregnancy was the result of a rape, that is thrown out the window by that section of the form. And forget protecting the life of the mother. Not in there, except for the exclusion of removal of ectopic pregnancy. Any other reason, the "unborn child" takes precedence over the mother.)
