Basically, I believe the Nobel committee was giving the award to the American People
.....for doing the right thing last November.

And it is perfectly ok with me that Barack Obama gets to accept the award on our behalf.

We changed the course of history... with respect to climate change, nuclear proliferation, muslim-nonmuslim relations, world economic collapse, you name it.

Simply by voting out the Republican regime. The world is thanking us for putting a sane, measured, thinking individual in the White House.

If Obama does nothing, it is 100 times better than what the Republicans were doing.

0 is better than negative.

But the fact that Obama is on his way to actually accomplishing some positive things, makes him 1000 times better than what we had for 8 years.

1. Disagree. It's his award.
We deserve praise for electing him, but the work is his.

2. But he couldn't have done anything without a sea-change in American voter mentality
Americans took a chance on the guy and changed the world narrative about the USA.

4. There is truth to that, but I think it is important we not detract that this is his vision.
We are cosignatories, to be sure, but he is the one doing the work.

3. I think they were reflecting a collective sigh of relief around the world
that President Cheney was finally gone. Now his evil policies have to follow.

8. It's for both the hope that Obama instills for a better world and for the American people
who made it possible.
