Right Wingers are rapidly becoming the American Taliban

I feel it is an honest comparison, and it's high time we recognized them as such and called them out as the anti-American thugs that they are.

The religious zealotry within their ranks, the hypocritical "social purity" that they represent, all compare to the Taliban. Their growing hatred of our current government, and the voices of treason within their ranks make these knuckle dragging robots a very dangerous crowd.

I think the American Taliban is appropriate.

Sadly, many people on the left anr just too fucking polite and genteel to see the truth when it is kicking them in the ass - MANY RW sites have been posting death threats about liberals, indeed anyone not a radical rightist, in what they see as a forthcoming revolution. A lot of people here laugh at them, but I have to say, in my years of experience working with violent people, that there is bound to be at least a small percentage of them who are perfectly serious.

There really have been few violent leftist radicals since the 1970's other than a few window smashers and eco SUV burners, while the right in this country has been killing people since the 1950's.

out to people just how like the taliban they are--have opened more than a few eyes.

I have been dealing with their insanity for decades--as a peace activist, working for women's rights, reproductive rights, etc., etc.
have had death threats, been physically asaulted, been stalked, harassed, threatened with violence (and told all I needed was a good lay)and more bs that has gone on and on. the most recent event was just 10 days ago, when I had finally had enough of listening to two lunatics talking about the evils of the koran--and how dare obama quote from it--that meant he had READ it. according to them, the history channel said the book was evil--neither one of them had read it. when I pointed out that they were full of it, I was told, and threatened, that I needed to shut up (both of these clowns bigger than me, but my purse. . . )I pointed out that since they were being very vocal, and very loud, in a public place, they had to expect that someone might respond--and someone who actually KNEW what s/he was talking about.

living in one of the reddest counties in the country, this kind of thing is far too common.
