Temperatures in Afghanistan up to 135 F (If I heard right). FRONTLINE said that. |
|
Anyone else see it?
Seems like to me that temp would kill off a lot of people. Mostly older people or people with health problems.

135 C is above the boiling point of water, and far hotter than any recorded temperature on the Earth's surface.

and he says it is horribly hot--but it IS a different kind of heat. Hot nonetheless, but different.

11. That would be a "very unlikely"... |
|
The world record high temperature ever recorded is 57.7 C or 136 F in Al 'Aziziyah, Libya in 1922.
Afghanistan is relatively high altitude and mild to hot climate (southern lowlands can reach into the 100's F, but not into the 130s or even the 120s F).
Someone is pulling your leg.

Max recorded temp in Kandahar was 111F this summer, according to history at weatherunderground. Avg temp in August was 104F for the month, which is fucking hot, but not 135F hot.
