Obama Favors "Socialized" Military
Edited on Wed Oct-14-09 02:06 PM by dawg
I know that many of you who frequent this site are liberals, and that some of you even call yourself socialists, but we're all Americans, damn it. We can't allow an outrage like this to stand.

Did you know that President Obama favors "government control" of our armed forces? Under his plan, not only would our brave soldiers receive their salaries directly from a government paymaster, they would also be subject to government-rationed health benefits, and in some instances, even their housing itself would be government owned. That's communism, folks.

Reliable sources confirm that Obama has solemnly pledged to support and enforce the provisions of a radical document that would place our military directly under the command of government employees. Imagine that, a war-seasoned general having to obey some civilian who never wore a uniform a day in his life. What could be more un-American than that? At least we still have a few brave members of congress (not meaning to be partisan, but all Republicans) who still believe in the proper role of the military. Certainly they have demonstrated this with their support of the brave Honduran heroes who simply would not take it anymore. But do they get any support from Obama or any other members of the democrat party? Of course not.

Maybe you think this doesn't affect you. You don't have any family members in the military, so it's someone else's problem that Obama is, for all practical purposes, declaring himself the "supreme commander" of the military. But they won't stop there. You already see what they are trying to do to health care. I know America has freedom of religion and all, but this is a Christian nation, and I can't think of anything more anti-Christian that a government could do than to attempt to provide health coverage to people who don't have it. And don't even get me started on Social Security. If Obama gets his hands on that, he is likely to socialize it and turn it into some kind of government program.

People need to stand up and make their voices heard about this outrage. Right-thinking Americans should contact their congressmen and let them know that they reject this president, that they reject a "government-run" military, and most of all that they reject that revolutionary document that Barack Obama reportedly swore an oath to implement.

For heavens sake, we need to take our country back.
That is all.

6. Sadly, no.
If Rush and Beck put this out, 35% of the country would immediately agree with it.

11. It probably inspired my original post.
I wish we could get a good fight going between those two, but I think Rush is too smart to fall for it.

13. If we could just get Rush off of Armed Forces Radio, it should be
illegal to have talk show hosts on AFR that have a clear RW agenda.

5. Let's let our soldiers pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
They need to realize the dignity of not having their paychecks signed by the government. They need a leg up, not a hand out. If Obama socializes the military, we are truly screwn.

12. Sadly, so much of the military has been privatized ....
I'm sure trying to restore some of that function to the military would be seen by the right as a "government takeover." No joke, folks.
