Webb supports extension of unemployment benefits

Sen. Jim Webb, D-Virginia, cosponsored a bill today that would extend unemployment insurance by 14 weeks for all jobless Americans.

Nearly 2 million out-of-work Americans face expiring benfits by the end of the year, according to a release from his office.

Republican leaders stalled the measure last week, the release said, but it is expected to move forward in the Senate in coming weeks. A House proposal would extend unemployment benefits by 13 weeks in states with jobless rates higher than 8.5 percent.

WTF do they mean by "coming weeks"? Good God almighty, people are practically starving out here and risking homelessness while these clowns fart around on stupid things or on that health care "reform" which will be nothing but handouts to private insurance companies.
