2. I'd support that program on one condition
That we could buy into the Canadian health care system. That is, if Americans were allowed to pay whatever Canadian citizens paid in taxes each year for their single payer system. I think that would be a great idea if the Canadians would allow it.

6. I've wondered about this claim....
Can a person go online and purchase health insurance? Yes.

Are the companies that offer these policies from that persons own state? No....not necessarily.

So, where does this all come from?

7. The real kicker
Is that just because you buy some wildly good insurance from across state lines doesn't mean any of the clinics you go to will take it.

8. Cuba sells an insurance policy to foreigners for about $250 a year. Full coverage.
Of course 99.8% of us can't go there (90 miles away from US shores) because Americans of non Cuban descent cannot travel there legally by US law.

Only Cuban expats who "fled" Cuba are allowed to return to take advantage of this, and they are.

Thanks to Mr Obama's latest legal tweak of Cuba travel policy, that allows Cuban exiles their full travel rights, the rest of us are relegated to 2nd class status - still travel banned.

9. Pennsylvania offers health insurance that has proved to be great for me - BUT
its mainly for people like me who retired without insurance and are too young to get Medicare, and who are residents of Pennsylvania.

The state does not advertise this program, and I had never heard of it till a year after I retired.
