ESPN: Rush Limbaugh may be dropped from group trying to buy Rams

Is Rush Limbaugh's flirtation with the NFL about to end?

The radio talk-show host said Wednesday he won't abandon his bid to become an NFL owner. But he might be losing his partner.

ESPN reported that St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts is aware that his bid to buy the St. Louis Rams with Limbaugh as an investor won't work. The network, citing three NFL insiders, said Checketts, who is leading the group, will likely "reconfigure" his bid to buy the Rams.

On his radio show Wednesday, Limbaugh said he would not leave the group trying to win control of the Rams, despite criticism of him by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Colts owner Jim Irsay on Tuesday.
