Yes, PLEASE, Mr. Turner!

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/television/news/e3i8ecb95ad2867bbdb5d8e29af923a9a4b

No knock on his "good friend" Jeff Bewkes -- or on Superman -- but Ted Turner wishes that he was running Time Warner so that he could make some changes at Cartoon Network and CNN, the cable news channel he founded 29 years ago.

At CNN, he wants "less fluffy news and more international news," especially about China, Turner says in an interview set to run on Bloomberg TV on Friday. "Less talk, more news," he says.

20. And so do I! At hotel this AM, turned on CNN and found "fluff". Turned it off.
I want news. Real news. Especially international news.

Certainly their are things happening elsewhere in the world and it would be helpful to know about them and perhaps even have some context to understand something about them.

2. If only, Ted. They targeted you with that AOL takeover, knowing full well AOL's value was inflated
like Enron's. They needed YOU gone and your wealth diminished. But, you've figured that out by now.

6. He was visionary and they fucked it all up after he left
I remember when he started CNN. It was exciting and there was real news and CNN had offices and reporters all over the world. Just like Christiane Amanpour does her stuff from other countries, they had dozens of reporters all over the world. People who really knew the countries they were in.

Now it's mostly just shit.

7. Well, Ted.. why did you let yourself lose controling interest?
and why not take steps to get it back..or maybe buy CNBC or MSNBC and start over:)

There are plenty of real news people still around, who would gladly sign on..and it would be a relief to see people telling us what happened, instead of guffawing with each other..and I would love to see women dressed in "work clothes" instead of cocktail dresses & snug sweaters. ( I know the men here don't mind at all:).)

IMO it's one of the best channels on television.

13. Maybe Ted should buy NBC?
If he was in charge of MSNBC, he could help kill his old network in the ratings.

As opposed to just killing MSNBC, which is what will happen if Comca$t takes it over. :evilfrown:

17. you will notice that no liberal is willing to put their money where their mouth is.
Curious why. Maybe all that money makes it hard for them to fight against their own class. They talk a good battle but notice that none own a network. That's because it is a class war. the rich against the lower classes.

I would keep it on for hours. I miss Turner's CNN.
