I am not missing cable news |
|
I click over to DU to see what is going on in our messed up little corner of the world and there's something about Arianna Huffington hyjacking a helium balloon and crashing it into Ed Schultz on his tv show after throwing a small boy from the balloon into a large shark tank.
24 hours a day is an awful long time to try to fill when there isnt anything really noteworthy happening that our corporate masters want to tell us about.
carry on and flame on if ye must

I'm in Denver and the local news has been talking about nothing BUT balloon boy for 55 minutes.

I think they serve their purpose, most of the time. At least my purpose. I get what I get from the cable news but don't feel the need, or the urge, to sit and watch them 24-7. I like it for background noise.
But the 24 hour thing is what's wrong with the news, as well as technology in general. That's when the news became more of an entertainment outlet, and a LIVE fist-fight between opposing sides, than an actual news source.
