Brian Williams blathering on about... |
|
Edited on Tue Apr-17-07 01:19 PM by rusty_parts2001
how "comforting" Bush is to the families of victims, his 9/11 experiences, the Iraq war dead's families he met, bla bla bla ad nauseum. What tripe. He's so good at it because he's created so many widows and orphans.

Haven't turned on the TV all day! I figured it was going to be Bush-love and university/cop-blame all day long.

6. Hmmm, another question might be: did they use the WH |

e-mail system or an outside server to send out the talking points to the media? I have no doubt the talking points went out and Williams is regurgitating them.

I think I heard the words, "Healer-In-Chief". WTF is he talking about? Barf. You are right about him being good at it because he has created so many grieving families. Too bad we can not have a convocation service like this for the families of our fallen soldiers. And don't flame me for saying that. I just get so angry that we don't really honor their deaths with something other than a magnet on the back of our cars that people can see as we zip off to the mall. Sorry for the rant, but I am just a bit disgusted with everything today. Yikes.

5. I turned the TV off when he said that |

I just could not bear it.
I was telling my kids last night that this is one tragedy that Bush is not actually responsible for (they're young enough that they assumed it was his fault like so much else). But he should not speak at this convocation. If I were a member of the Virginia Tech community, I would be okay with his presence in the audience, but I wouldn't want to hear from anybody but a fellow classmate or faculty member.
Comfort? From the man who "comforted" us on September 11 after ignoring a PDB about a potential attack? "Comfort" now, from a man whose attitude to senseless death is so uncaring and cavalier? It's rubbing salt in the wound.

7. Amazing how Brian needs to sell us on Bush's ability to comfort. |
|
I was nauseated with that intro....like we needed an introduction to Bush's compassionate conservatism after living with it for the past 6 years? What a media whore.
